We worked around the clock as the time to competition drew near. Though we'd been working from the start, there was still so much to do. Line following was neat, but it was too slow so we scrapped it. We used a shaft encoder instead to measure how far our robot went and hope that with accurate measurements we wouldn't need line following.

Our robot got off to a great start in round 1, not only qualifying but also winning against our opponent, 3-1 after we threw their ball over. Our opponent failed on the line we were running on, so our robot assumed it was a wall and couldn't get through, turning around and not collecting the second ball.

Between then and impounding we put in an all nighter to see how much we could fix up our robot and improve it until competition. Finally the robots were impounded.

In Round 2, we suffered a loss, 2-3. The other robot managed to pull balls faster than we could throw them.

Round 3 went well for us as we threw a ball but missed the turn back along the line, winning 3-2.
By Round 4, however, we were eliminated after our second loss when our robot got completely off set and couldn't find it's way back to the balls. Mini-Max managed to beat us by scooping up two balls and bringing them back to his side.

Though we didn't make it into the finals, our robot won Organizer's Choice, a prestigious award for our innovative design and idea. We demoed a game of catch rogrammed in lab in front of the audience and recieved Darth Maul dual bladed lightsabers as rewards for our creativity.

If we could have, it would've been nice to increase our speed by adding two motors and adjusting the gear boxes some, giving our robot a boost of speed that would've been nice. Speed would've helped us go back and forth more on the line and score more points. Programming a better way for it to deal with objects that weren't walls, like corners and other robots, would've helped some too.

All in all, though, we were happy with our robot and the way it turned out. 6.270 was a fun and rewarding experience.
