Team 7

Foo Foo Puff

The Day of Reckoning:

Unfortunately our robot made a showing we could have made just as well after the first week of the course. Because we spent so much time designing, building, and modifying parts of our robot, we had very little time to actually implement a strategy and even less time to test it to make sure our robot wouldn't screw up due to simple stuff (like turning around and driving straight). If you take away nothing else from our story, remember that complexity doesn't win 6.270. It doesn't even really place in the top half. If you make a simple robot and spend your time making it work perfectly, you probably won't end up like we (and some other equally hardworking teams) did. The downside of that, of course, is that you don't even have half the fun playing around with the cool stuff you can do with Lego and the HandyBoard.

Choose your path wisely...
