6.270 is a class offered during IAP ( Independent Activities Period) which runs the entire month of January.

The students are given a set of legos, several electronics, and rules, and then are set off to build a lego robot to win the competition.

IAP 2005

The Rules in Simplicity ~  Each robot starts out in either the black side (square with 3 black squares and 1 white squares) and the white

side (the big square with 3 white squares and 1 black square)  The black robot receives points by scoring in the 3 black areas while the

white robot receives points by scoring in 3 white areas.  There is also voting areas which are on the sides.  The winning voting area would

be the voting area which has the most balls in it.  Balls of the winning voting color counts as +2 points while balls of the losing color counts as -1 point.  The winning robot would get the most points in its scoring area, an accumulation of points from any red/green balls in its area.
