What Happened

Unfortunately, our robot didn't come together quite as we'd hoped. We started building and coding the robot pretty late in the month, and just didn't have enough time to test everything and fix the many many problems that came up before the competition.

We think our strategy and design was good and would have worked well if we'd only started earlier and had more time to work on the robot. We ended up having to get rid of a lot of the code we had written and didn't use many of the mechanisms we'd built for the robot in the end just to simplify things enough that we could qualify.

We also wasted a significant amount of time setting up things like shaft encoding and line following and trying to get them to work, when we later decided not to use them at all anyway. Also, we had to redesign and rebuild several parts of our robot to get it to a state where the flapper and sorting mechanisms would work properly.
