Competition

We won the first two round with ease. The trouble came in the final rounds. We limped all the way up to the 6th round. We won two times but we were certainly not the crowd favorite. In both our rounds, we only managed to bring back one ball - we were lucky.

Nine teams out of sixty were left in the 6th round and we were matched up against a placebo, the "sheep". We thought this would be an easy pass to the 7th round, but no. The match against the "sheep" turned out to be one of the most embarrassing moments of our MIT life. We lost to the damn sheep. Our robot just banged into a wall and stayed there throughout the match. Very very embarrassing. Nobody loses to a placebo. Nobody but us. Our primary strategy code just failed completely in front of us. One of our turns (orientation facing away from our side of the table) was modified at the last minute before impounding, and that led to our downfall. We hate sheeps now. Other than that, 6.270 was a great experience for both of us. We learned a lot and had fun doing it. We'd love to have another chance to do it.
