Goals

We were confident that our robot would do well during the competition. We spent countless hours in lab, and tested the robot as much as we could. Our objective was an accurate and reliable robot. We knew that a "cool" robot would not have the functionality to win the competition because of the inherent complexity in creating one. It was our hope that our robot would at least make it into the Final Competition and not fail.

The Competition

We made it to the second round of the seeding rounds and lost because of an obscure "panic: stack overflow" error that we never saw before. We knew that our robot was capable of winning the competition, and we vowed to stay up the entire night to fix this dreadful error. After the error was fixed, more capabilities were added to our robot that night.

Our robot made it through the Preliminary rounds and competed in the Final Competition. We went undefeated throughout most of the competition but received our first loss to the Purple Dragon robot near the end of competition. Our robot fought hard in every round, and never fought a placebo once, a testament to the durability and reliability of our robot. Alas, we made it to the final rounds and competed against the Purple Dragon robot once again. In a climactic battle, we lost by one ball. We were very proud to receive second place in the competition.
