Tips

The one and only thing you need to know: build a sturdy, reliable robot. Our robot may not have been as advanced as other robots or as fancy looking, but it did what it needed to do reliable. It was able to carry many balls at once, and though it did not always score all the balls, it consistently dumped in enough balls. When rammed, our robot would not fall apart. We also has something along the back of our robot that helped it align properly. Instead of using corner lego pieces for the "corners", we used axel spacers. When lego pieces hit the wall, sometimes it would dig in and not reorient the robot. When we put in the extra two alignment pegs, this problem disappeared. (See the design page for a picture of the back of our robot.)
