The Contest
The game is somewhat complicated, but we'll put it in the simplest terms we can.
Playing Field:
Approximately
6' x 8', with six scoring-bins. Three are for you, three are for your
opponent. The bins have point designations of 4, 2, and 1. On the side
opposite of the table there is a large red ball, about 3" in diameter,
called the 'Skunk Ball'.
Rules:
Two
teams battle it off at once. The robots start in the assigned corners
in a random orientation (North, East, South, West). Teams are then
given six balls, about 1" in diameter, to place in or near the robot.
Before the match begins, a random number of the series (15, 17, 18, 19,
21, 22, 23) will be announced, and the teams' robots must try to score
exactly that number of points by dropping the appropriate number of
balls in each bin. Your score is how many points you are away from the
objective, thus the lower the score the better. If you are able to
retrieve the skunk ball and place it back in your opponent's team base,
then they will receive four points against them.
Tiebreakers:
